For the past 18 years, Rabbi Randi Musnitsky has served Temple Har Shalom as our Senior Rabbi, enriching all of us with her intellect, passions and enthusiasm for this congregation, our community and the State of Israel. As we continue to mark this final year of full-time service to the congregation before her transition to Rabbi Emerita in July, the time has come for us meet the moment with all it deserves. Thus, it is our pleasure and distinct honor to officially announce plans for Rabbi Randi Musnitsky’s Year of Celebration, Legacy & Mazel.

The year ahead will be comprised of three components: Events of Celebration, Ways of Securing Rabbi Musnitsky’s Legacy, and Moments of Mazel.

We invite you to read through the information, mark your calendars accordingly, and plan on joining us in celebrating all of Rabbi Musnitsky’s accomplishments and the lasting impact she has had on our Temple Har Shalom community.

SECURING A LEGACY
CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE RABBI MUSNITSKY L’DOR V’DOR FUND
The most meaningful way for each of us to honor Rabbi Musnitsky is with a contribution to the newly created Rabbi Randi Musnitsky L’Dor V’Dor Fund.Enriching the Fund will pay tribute to Rabbi Musnitsky and allow her vibrant engagement with our congregants, community and Israel to continue indefinitely in her name. While the fund will initially be used to help pay for expenses in this year ahead, it will be used, going forward, to honor Rabbi Musnitsky’s legacy as an ardent and steadfast supporter of Israel – the enduring homeland of the Jewish people. The Fund will be used to support congregational programs, events, speakers, continuing trips, advocacy and activism for Israel and to support causes in Israel with our tzedakah, such as the IDF and victims of terrorism/antisemitism. The funds raised may also be used to assist with the needs of individuals in our congregation, community and in Israel and to provide for opportunities to enrich the membership with occasions to come together and be inspired by our Jewish heritage and by one another. You can read more about the fund, including special levels of giving that include pre-secured access to all of our events this year, by clicking here or visiting http://templeharshalom.org/rmfund. Don’t forget that all donations, including and especially this one, can be paid with appreciated securities; reach out to our Bookkeeper at accounting@templeharshalom.org for instructions.

VOLUNTEER YOUR TIME

The programming, coordination, and execution of the year ahead does not happen in isolation. In short, we need your help! If you are interested in volunteering to be involved with any or all of the events, please contact Resa Drasin at rmcelebration@templeharshalom.org or (908) 334-0836.
MOMENTS OF MAZEL
NETIV HAR SHALOM
Inspired by her recent visit to Moshav Netiv HaAsara on the Gaza border during the THS Solidarity Trip this past July, throughout this year we will be honoring Rabbi Musnitsky by creating a permanent mural on the outside of the main entryway. Taken from the Moshav’s Path to Peace project, which you can see and read more about here, everyone from our THS, TOA, and extended friends and family circles will be encouraged to add their personal tile of well wishes to our own Path to Peace. More details coming soon. RELIGIOUS SCHOOL & TOA
Throughout the year, the students of our JSchool, Jr. Chai, Chai School, and Orchard Academy will have various ways in which they honor Rabbi Musnitsky’s legacy. Keep an eye on your emails to the days and times at which students and their families will be asked to participate.
