The ner tamid is our eternal light above the Ark, a symbol of God’s eternal presence.
Our tradition implores us to never allow the light to extinguished. By joining the Ner Tamid Society, you will fulfill the Jewish teaching: “to be a light unto the nations” through your mitzvah of tzedakah.
