Religious School for Grades PreK through 12th is an incredible part of the Temple Har Shalom experience.
By making your child’s Jewish education a priority, you’re making an investment in their future and giving them an unrivalled gift. Never before, in our generation, has commitment to Jewish education, and building pride in our Judaism, been of such importance as it is today. Nevertheless, we remain enthused and ready to meet the moment as partners on this journey.
Religious School meets at the following days and times:
JSchool (Grades PreK-6): Sundays from 9:00am-12:00pm
Junior Chai (Grade 7): Wednesdays* from 6:00pm-8:00pm (*dinner included)
Chai School (Grades 8-12): Wednesdays* from 6:30pm-8:00pm (*dinner included)
FOR 3RD-6TH GRADE FAMILIES: After rave reviews, we are excited to announce that we are continuing our Midweek Virtual Hebrew option that will complement our Sunday Hebrew program. The concentration of our Hebrew instruction will still be on Sunday mornings, and we encourage regular attendance, but our midweek Hebrew “tune up sessions”, taught by master Jewish educators Marsha Young and Barbara Hassid through Zoom, will ensure the students truly learn to read the Hebrew language. While the midweek virtual option remains voluntary, we have found that the students who participated during this past year showed definitive improvement and benefits from the additional Hebrew instruction. Note that classes did fill this past year, so we encourage you to add your midweek option at the same time as your main JSchool registration.
FOR 6TH-7TH GRADE FAMILIES: Look out for a future note about Prayer Prep, another way to ensure your child is ready for their becoming a Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
