The start of the Hebrew month of Adar in a few short days means one thing: It’s almost Purim! Our raucous and joyous holiday commemorates yet another time in Jewish history when, facing near certain annihilation, the Jews of Shushan, Persia saved themselves by refusing to conform to societal pressure and proudly reaffirming their Jewish identity. In honor of them, heroes like Queen Esther & Mordechai, and those around the world who continue to fight these same battles today, we spend the month of Adar, and the holiday itself, relishing in celebration and cheer.
At Har Shalom, our Purim weekend, March 14th-16th, is one not to be missed! |
