Jr. Chai (Grade 7) and Chai School (Grades 8-12)

Recognizing that some of the greatest foundations to a child’s Jewish identity occur during the teenage years, Temple Har Shalom is committed to maintaining a meaningful program for our 8th-12th graders that continues the chain of Jewish learning and prepares them for college.

Our goal is for students to learn that they can view their world through a Jewish lens and look to that heritage for ethics and values to guide them in making adult decisions. We seek to fortify them with Jewish wisdom during a time of exploration and prepare them for the challenges ahead. We endeavor to provide our teenagers with caring, responsible adult Jewish role models with whom they can form a connection and are extremely proud of our staff of teachers, Jewish professionals, and clergy members who each take a shared role in fostering our programs and students.

Our Wednesday evenings and always includes one of the most Jewish-of-traditions: food. Each class will have time to socialize and catch up with their friends over a meal. Often, this will feature pizza, but we will include a few “special dinners” throughout the year to give some variety to our normal offerings. Our Wednesday schedule is:

  • 6:30-8:00 PM – Grades 9-12

Our programs are only open to Temple Har Shalom members in good standing. Our tuition fees reflect the support needed but we never want finances to prevent anyone from joining our community. Below is a brief summary of our curricula and topics of study as well as accompanying tuition information. Not included are the wide assortment of special programs, enrichment classes, trips, introduction to regional youth programs, and so much more.

We invite you to explore the links on the right side of this page for registration, curriculum information, and our annual school calendars. Not included are the wide assortment of special programs, in-person family events, and so much more!
