Mountain Top School for Young Children at Temple Har Shalom provides young children with a rich and stimulating environment that is warm, loving, and supportive of each child’s own rate of learning and development. We encourage the child’s natural curiosity by allowing them to experience challenges and success, while at the same time gaining self-control and independence in a safe environment. By providing a supportive, non-pressured atmosphere, each child acquires a solid sense of security, positive self-esteem, and a long-term enthusiasm for learning.

Carefully planned theme-related programs and activities allow the children to be exposed to a wide variety of age-appropriate learning activities that meet their emotional, social, intellectual, and physical developmental needs and is the curriculum expected from a tried and true school.

Mountain Top offers Mommy and Me classes throughout the year. We also have a unique transition class, “Toddlers in Transition” for easing a two year old into a school setting. There is increasing recognition that the first few years of a child’s life are a particularly sensitive period in the process of development, laying a foundation in childhood and beyond for cognitive functioning; behavioral, social, and self-regulatory capacities; and physical health.
